We have a small herd of miniature cattle that is made up of great multipurpose breeds such as, Irish Dexters, Miniature Herefords, British whites, and Highparks. We also have a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats that are gaining popularity with hobby farmers and homesteaders for milking purposes. Our newest endeavor on the property are TAMUK meat rabbits. They are known for their heat and humidity hardiness.

Miniature Cows

Our heard is made up of Irish Dexters, Miniature Herefords, British whites, and Highparks. The Miniature cattle are great for small properties.  Mini's only weigh about 500 to 800 pounds each and need roughly half an acre per head to flourish. Their smaller size makes them far easier to handle and work with. They eat a third of a full size cow and produce half the meat. So It's a win win!

We have a herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats. They are great around kids, great for small homestead milking, and full of personality!  Nigerian dwarf goats can produce up to two quarts of milk each day. They are known for their milk having ten percent more protein and butterfat than what is typically found in dairy goats' milk. This is what is so appealing to small family's looking for fresh milk. Like previously stated, their personalities are for the most part very laid back and they are so easy going, making them a perfect family pet. They are also known for their abundant breeding. Typically they will have multiple offspring every nine to twelve months. All of our babies raised on the farm are Dam raised, unless certain circumstances come up. We wean around 8-10 weeks typically.  All kids & adults as well will be up to date on CD&T vaccinations, wormed (as per their age allows), coccidia prevention, treated for lice/mites with Cylence Pour-On & hooves trimmed.

They are a cross of seven different breeds.  Dr. Steven Lukefahr at Texas A&M University - Kingsville wanted to create a hardy backyard meat breed with a variety of coat colors, high production, strong feed conversion and heat tolerance!  The seven breeds TAMUKs compiled of are New Zealand Red, Siamese Satin, Californian, New Zealand White, Dutch, Champagne d'Argent, Harlequin, and Havana.  Because the TAMUKs have long ears and thin fur coats they are able to tolerate our hot and humid Southeast Texas summers much better than any of the other breeds separately.

We are working towards selling  both pure TAMUK breeding stock. We also utilize them in our meat production to supplement our grocery bill.  If you're interested in breeding bucks or does or would like to try some of our rabbit meat, reach out and I am sure we can get you taken care of!
